a morning off

I have a morning off today so I decided to renew my blog. I used brown as the main color because I love all the shadows of it. The header represents the title of my blog: the word 'mouchoirs' is a French one, it means napkin in English. This is one of my favourite words in French (btw I like drawing on napkins) and France is also one of my fav countries. I don't have too much time on my blog because of this grad stuff but I'm trying my best to post as soon as I can. Well, hope you're all gonna enjoy Mouchoirs! :)

And here are some pics from yesterday, loving my leopard scarf...

Grammy 2012

My Grad Ball was on February 12 so I couldn't watch the 2012 Grammy Awards live, but now I'm an insider. It's always exciting to see an artist have a huge night at the Grammys. And no one had a bigger one than Adele, who won six awards sweeping the top categories.
I pretty love Adele and her work!

And here is Jennifer Hudson's emotional tribute to Whitney Houston. It went off without a hitch, high notes and all. Hudson performed the late singer's cover of Dolly Parton's song "I Will Always Love You" on a simple black stage and became visibly emotional during the performance. I loved it!

My favourite red-carpet looks

Adele in a custom Giorgio Armani gown with bright red lipstick for the show.

Carrie Underwood's Gomez-Garcia dress kept her covered up from the front, but showed off some sexy skin in the back. The Gomez-Gracia sparkled and her black clutch added a splash of contrast as she made her way down the carpet.

Julianne Hough stepped out in a strapless Kaufman Franco dress at the Grammys. Her makeup could be bolder and I don't like that center part in her hair that ends halfway down her scalp. Still, one of the better dresses of the night.

I think Kate looks gorgeous, as she always does, and I like that she has her hair pulled up in loose curls. Kate was in a short Zuhair Murad one-shoulder cream gathered gown with a black ribbon detail. Yeah baby!

... Please.. Don't!
The worst looks...

Sasha Gradiva and Robyn... oh-oh..

Bonnie McKee and d'Manti (ok, love the shoes!)

Snookie baby I love you, but not this look.. And Nicki Minaj, Hell no!

Esperanza Spalding and Fergie. C'mon girls!!

Valentine's Day

The origins of Valentine's Day trace back to the ancient Roman celebration of Lupercalia. Held on February 15, Lupercalia honored the gods Lupercus and Faunus, as well as the legendary founders of Rome, Romulus and Remus.
In addition to a bountiful feast, Lupercalia festivities are purported to have included the pairing of young women and men. Men would draw women's names from a box, and each couple would be paired until next year's celebration.
While this pairing of couples set the tone for today's holiday, it wasn't called "Valentine's Day" until a priest named Valentine came along. Valentine, a romantic at heart, disobeyed Emperor Claudius II's decree that soldiers remain bachelors. Claudius handed down this decree believing that soldiers would be distracted and unable to concentrate on fighting if they were married or engaged. Valentine defied the emperor and secretly performed marriage ceremonies. As a result of his defiance, Valentine was put to death on February 14.
After Valentine's death, he was named a saint. As Christianity spread through Rome, the priests moved Lupercalia from February 15 to February 14 and renamed it St. Valentine's Day to honor Saint Valentine.
I gave it to Him
He gave them to me :)

THE GRAD BALL

- Sunday, 02/12/2012
Well, I've been very much excited about the prom but for now I forgot all the mad stuff. The ball was pretty cool we didn't cr p the dance up and everyone who counts was there. My classmates were beautiful, the dresses were amazing, we could enjoy that time together.
At 9am my hairdresser made my hair so the prom time came closer and closer... Our final dance tryout started at noon yesterday, it took two hours. Then I got my make up and went back to the school. The event started at 5pm: first of all we got the blue ribbons, after that we showed our dance to the public :) It was such a good feeling! My family, my friends and my love have seen and really enjoyed it. The party began after the show, we changed our clothes and had a lot of fun.

preparing for the ball

My grad ball is coming up because I end up with secondary school soon. This time we're gonna get blue ribbons and then represent a 'prom dance'. That is why I went shopping and trying on prom dresses. I've found a pretty good bra from Pierre Cardin which fits me well, and my hairdresser made my trial hair. Yesterday I also visited my manicurist and have my nails done for the ball. I wanted something simple but marvelous which suits my white prom dress and my blue evening dress. Yeah about the evening dress: I've found that in a hidden store and I literally fell in love with the color and the form of it.

This is how my hair will look like
